Description

Historic American Landscape Survey detailing the lodge building (now demolished) at Punchbowl (National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific)
Significance: The lodge built for the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific is significant as an example of a post World War II suburban house type adapted for the cemetery superintendent’s use. In this instance, the Quartermaster’s office designed an island ranch style building and this design was built only once. The lodge is slated for demolition in 2014.
